1366651 2014-02-02 07:31:00 I am disgusted at both TVNZ News and Granny Herald's reporting (what a joke) of " reported" clashes with the Japanese whaling fleet in Antarctic waters.

"During the clashes, which were continuing into afternoon, the whaling vessels had also made consecutive attempts to tangle the propellers of the Sea Shepherd ships by dragging steel cable across the bow of the conservation ships, a Sea Shepherd spokesman said." (www.nzherald.co.nz)

Really??

Yet as screened on TV last week, it was OK for Sea Shepherd and her crew of terrorists to do exactly the same thing to the Japanese ships?

1366654 2014-02-03 08:06:00 Yep illegal whalers it seems should be left alone according to the first post here. I don't agree with SS methods, but I certainly don't agree with Japan whaling in a sanctuary either. Illegal acts by one side unfortunately have been met with more illegal acts because no one wants to stop them legally gary67 (56)
1366655 2014-02-03 08:19:00 Yeah, I disagree with the whaling. If it is for research, as they claim, they should not be able to sell the meat. However, the tactics of Sea Shepard, and their mates Greenpeace in other similar cases, do absolutely nothing to help their cause. Those Greenpeace activists arrested by the Russians deserve everything they deserve, in my view. There was nothing peaceful about it. wotz (335)
1366656 2014-02-03 09:01:00 The rights or wrongs of whaling have nothing to do with this story.

It is the double standards as practiced by the terrorists aboard SS that should be condemned.

1366657 2014-02-03 17:40:00 As should the actions of the whalers, two wrongs don't make a right. If the whalers weren't there neither would SS so it is about illegal whaling just as much as crappy reporting or anything else in the sad saga gary67 (56)
1366658 2014-02-03 18:54:00 During the news I have never heard the newsreaders say who is in the right or not...they just report what apparently happens.

Really why allow them here anyway? If they want to slaughter whales, they can do so over in their own seas....

What I find amusing is the anti-oil people.........lets see them put their money where their mouths are - ditch all combustion engine vehicles etc and everything containing plastic and nylon from their lives. Then protest.

1366660 2014-02-03 20:34:00 Looking at TV last night it is quite obvious once again that the Sea Shepherd turned once again at the last minute into towards the Bow of the Jap boat. If they maintained course of even turned slightly the other way.:o Arnie (6624)
