| 1366234 | 2014-01-27 12:58:00 | I've gone from China to Japan and the internet speeds and services here are jaw dropping. I'm staying with a friend of mine, who has So-Net (Sony) Fibre that runs at 2Gbit/sec. 2Gbit/sec. Speedtest.net gives a similar result... 5513 Just crazy. And how much per month? 5,331JPY, or $65NZD, with no data cap. And we're only getting fibre in now? Sucks to be behind. |

| 1366236 | 2014-01-27 21:56:00 | I think I was visiting a friend in the countryside and her all she could use internet was cellular 3G I think (portable WiFi unit docked to a charger) you could also carry this out with you and set your phone to WiFi receive. Something like 30Mbps / 15. :D Well she is thinking of giving her iPhone 4 to her mum so she can pickup a iPhone 5 for free for herself ..... and she then moves to 4G :p Maybe 500Mbps in the countryside  She chats to me on Skype / WeChat while is doing her supermarket shopping and at times she has to pause because she is paying for her groceries. Yeah there is a data cap technically if you manage to do 20GB per day consistently, you get a polite email .... :D |

| 1366240 | 2014-01-28 01:58:00 | And they call us a first world advanced, developed country. And Telecom and Chorus and Vodafone etc say we are rising up the broadband charts. And the Commerce Commmiosion believes them! Chorus had the cheek to tell our local newspaper that they were doing tests in Tauranga before they coulc start connecting peoplr to their ufb sometime later this year. Its a bit tricky connecting people up in a rich well developed suburb.....they have driveways! |
