Same reason we have Bluray and not HDDVD I thought it had more to do with the fact that porn studios just started using VHS tapes which made the format very popular. VHS has since been surpassed by the interwebs :) As to Bluray.. that kinda got superceded before it had a chance to take off. |

Compare the tiny selection of Porn to the huuuuge selection of 'mainstream' movies. was the same when vid rental stores were all tape. I doubt anybody bought VHS machines simply because porn wasnt available on Beta. It was all to do with who did the better marketing job. HDDVD VS BR war: nothing to do with porn.
