Yup and they are selling Motorola at a huge loss. They paid $12.5 billion for it and sold it for $2.91 billion. They originally only bought it for the patents that Motorola holds but they turned out to be virtually worthless in IP battle for smart phone superiority so Google have flicked Motorola off to Lenovo and are taking a $10 billion hit in the process. Google has made a multi million dollar loss on their Motorola acquisition every year since the purchase of the company.
Not quite so as they have sold other parts of that acquisition eg their set top box business. |
