1366822 2014-02-05 00:16:00 The kids are actually just 'playing' with it as a toy.

How much do they really learn from 'playing' with it, I have my doubts.

It's just a toy for all ages, from new-born to 100 (if one lives that long and have good eyesights), even for pets like, cats, dogs, monkeys, etc. .... :D

1366823 2014-02-05 00:56:00 I think you would be surprised bk T. With the right guidance from a teacher the kids could either look stuff up or use it for basic math exercises or object and colour identification exercises. I have a 6 year old niece who is a total whiz and identifying animals, birds, fish, numbers, colours, shapes, words etc on her iPad. She is also very good at various math games and spelling games on the iPad. Webdevguy (17166)

Things like learning how to write their name with a pen or pencil will probably be replaced by learning how to type it. But learning the 3 Rs, will just be transferred from pen and paper to electronic device.
