1380763 2014-08-07 04:32:00 OP, you could set up your models in a spreadsheet. It would be a little less flexible than a 'proper' database but easier to get going and a lot more visible.

Give it a go. Nothing to lose.

1380764 2014-08-07 11:46:00 I will give it a try and see what happens. Have got the Kingsoft Office and have had bit of look. Seems like it will do what I want. QW. (15883)
1380765 2014-08-07 21:20:00 How many models do you need to record?

Also, note that Kingsoft has just changed its name to WPS. I have installed later versions under the 'WPS' banner. Hope they are stable like the earlier versions.

About 50 or so at the moment.

If you save your spreadsheet file as a .csv file you can export it to a MySQL database.. or not.. if you prefer just to keep it as a spreadsheet.

Depending on what data you have entered into the spreadsheet it would certainly be sufficient to be used on a database.

1380768 2014-08-08 02:15:00 Is Libre office or open office good enough to create a database to record my collection of model aircraft? The solution appears to be too simple... Open Office is wonderful, and its built-in spreadsheet application will easily solve your question. Greg (193)
