1366678 2014-02-03 06:05:00 My personal take on it is the only real failure is not making the new interface optional from the start. Thats where MS went all wrong, instead of introducing small changes slowly, they did a complete change all at once, which a lot of people cant handle. The ones who can handle it generally dont have a problem. wainuitech (129)
1366679 2014-02-03 06:45:00 Long Live XP! :clap

I install it up to SP2 then turn off updates and problems solved.

Yeah, you get the odd glitch with the odd programme looking for something like an updated Dot Net Framework, but that is easier than having to whisp your cursor off the top corner of screen to find your “Charm” or whatever you’re looking for.

Well, that’s assuming you don’t go driving into paddocks looking for signposts.

Don’t know what they were smoking at Microsoft, but I want some! :D

They also do change by committee where they try to work a change to keep everybody happy.. And that's always going to end in failure where MS are concerned.

1366682 2014-02-03 08:10:00 I hate the fact that in the kindy screen programs don't shut they hide so when you go to delete a file from the desktop you can't because its open in a program that's hiding and you thought was shut. How dumb is that? Very it would seem otherwise why would MS have done it that way. Mostly I like Win8 except for when it does dumb stuff like the aforementioned. I still would use Win7 first though gary67 (56)

And why have apps on the Start/Metro screen that always throw you onto the Desktop screen to open???

1366686 2014-02-03 13:21:00 W8 is a retard fest.

Its not that change is bad, its just that bad is bad. W8 sucks donkey balls.

The metro interface may work fine on a tablet, all such devices are heavily restricted, But it just makes using a PC/laptop unpleasant, clunky, and shite.

And **** me, if after 30 years in the business if MS can't make a desktop that people actually like, and that works for the user, that delivers what the user wants, then there is someone making decisions who needs the **** kicked out of them.

But, if the news is true, and 99 percent of the times its merely someone blowing smoke up some fat boys arse, The management and design team behind w8 have been rolled.

1366687 2014-02-03 13:23:00 If apple wasn't such a poor alternative I'd switch camps, But that would be like heading to Vinegar point for New Years, You just don't go there unless you really want to be part of it or if you have no idea of what being part of it entails. Metla (12)
