Well sorry, how budget considers that to be enormous.
I paid$200 for the lounge suite.

1366049 2014-01-26 03:32:00 Swmbo has a Nexus 5. For an Apple fan that was a bit of a surprise among her long term acquaintances, but it was a Xmas present so she had to use it. :devil:devil She could not be parted from it without surgery now. She is not even faintly interested in any model of iWhone, considering them illogical. Next mission is to get her apple computing abominations out of the house :D R2x1 (4628)

1366051 2014-01-26 04:06:00 There's some incredibly decent ones you can get these days for that price though!

What else in the +/- $350 price range is there besides the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 (with 4G)?
My old Defy is acting up and I am eager to update :D .

Congratulations R2x1.
Apple devotees are indeed a difficult species, especially those that are fanatically attached to Apple and have to push it down other's throats. I have always said that Apple makes quality products but are overpriced and the advert-marketing-brainwashed devotees refuse to consider any other product, even if shown to be less expensive and with equal or better features and ease of use.

The way I see it they are actually mini computers that have a phone built it. Well worth it.

Also "mini computers that have a pic/video camera/player... plus a phone".
So yes pctek, $350 for a phone is way too expensive, but it is not just a phone. Phones with SIM cards are only $19 these days.

Are you on a network with 4G, are you in a area with 4G? Nexus4 $395 but not 4G. There are windows phones with 4G lumia 620 $399. But nothing wrong with ace3

1366053 2014-01-26 04:44:00 No 4G in our area yet, but (*eventually*) I am sure that it will be everywhere with every network so I don't want to be limited with a 3G phone. Strommer (42)
1366054 2014-01-26 05:13:00 For $350 it would have to be able to make phone calls as well.

Ken :)

1366055 2014-01-26 05:18:00 There is not much out there in your price range except the two I mentioned. But both would be a step up from the defy. Unfortunately after giving WP8 big praise for there low end range, I would no longer recommend them due too total lack of apps of ones I needed. plod (107)

I'm curious as to your rational behind want to rid the house of the remaining fruit flavoured computing devices.

Is it because you just have a deep seated aversion to them or is it the fact that you consider that they don't allow you to express your own technological superiority over them because they at not Windows PCs which have always been considered the bastion of the "IT Tech domain"...?

Or is there some other reason?
