1380583 2014-08-01 03:31:00 Hi Team

Picked this up in Mailwasher a few minutes ago, flagged as possible spam.

I can't see anything potentially mischievous in the body of the email, but I'm not 100% sure that it is from Telecom because I'd expect some explanation of the reasons for doing this, as they did for the last round of changes.

The above is just an extract, there was a fair amount more but nothing to help classify it, one way or the other.

Cheers

1380584 2014-08-01 03:44:00 This seems to relate it to the previous changes made to Telecom Email

Hello
This is an HTML email sent from Telecom

I'm still not sure about it, because all those changes were made several weeks ago (and gave me a hard time getting it sorted) so I can't see why there would be a further alert at this late stage.

Cheers

1380585 2014-08-01 04:00:00 Probably a scam, I've never heard of "telecom-email.co.nz"

Best thing would be to ring up Telecom and ask if you are unsure.

Might be a good heads up for anyone else who gets one of these, if it's a scam.

1380589 2014-08-01 04:16:00 Well if people cant tell the diff. Or ring instead. Or delete it like i would Speedy Gonzales (78)
1380590 2014-08-01 04:50:00 They are having problem now, I think.

I can't even load the Xtramail log in page.

That's just normal operating procedure for Yahoo! - nothing to do with the SMTP server.

1380592 2014-08-02 06:14:00 telecom-email.co.nz is a Telecom-owned domain used for some of their email marketing. It's probably yet another notification of the retirement of their old SMTP server. inphinity (7274)
