331602 2005-03-07 10:53:00 I would get rid of MSN for a start!

Try something like gaim, or some other IM program that uses MSN if u still want to use MSN . The only thing is, if u use a webcam, this program may not allow u to use it, unless the other person uses the same program as u .

See if this site picks anything up

. ca . com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan . aspx" target="_blank">www3 . ca . com

If u have XP SP2, look under the address bar . U have to allow an activex file to install, before it'll scan . Can u use a browser??

Also, if u use XP go to start/run and type in msconfig, tell us whats in the startup tab, (Thats if this isnt disabled), or bring up task manager (if this isnt disabled) .

Tell us if there are any strange names in here under processes .

331603 2005-03-07 10:58:00 I couldnt see any strange looking files in start up. NyMcTray? is that normal?

I think it is about time I went to bed..

Would a good idea, if there isnt too much to lose, to be reformat?

331605 2005-03-07 11:21:00 to fix it, go to c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts and open the hosts file with notepad and delete everything in it then save it, this will fix your problems Tux (606)
331606 2005-03-08 04:12:00 Thanks for that, i can go to symantec now!

I dont know the name of the virus though, it seems it has spread fast, alot of people at school had it. AVG picked up on a file named 'Fatso.A' and then a heap of flies that are the ones that it uses in MSN, 'me on holiday' 'LOL that ur pic', and the one that got me, Jenifer Lopeze, and heaps more.

Can I be sure im safe now that AVG Picked up on it?

331607 2005-03-08 04:16:00 Did AVG do anything about the files tho??? Did it send them to the vault? delete them?? Speedy Gonzales (78)
