| 332019 | 2005-03-08 23:42:00 | While browsing though a site this morning, my virus checker alerted me to a "sign of (name of virus/worm) on File Name http:// (name of site, file etc)" and advised me to disconnect . I am not infected or it would have been contained in a vault and my virus checker would have given different instructions, this was a warning of a sign of the virus . Did run programs to check for sure anyway though! So: 1 . Is this info from the virus checker for real or a false alarm . 2 . If it is real, do I just avoid that site and not go back . It is a really good site which many people use . 3 . Or do I advise the site of the warning so they can check it out . 4 . Or do I mind my own business knowing that their virus checking of their site is perfectly able to look after the problem if there really is one . What is the right procedure in this instance, and is there ever a time that you should advise a site on anything that something may be amiss? |

I didnt go anywhere near a UK site . BUT according to this visualtracking in Nortons, it actually originated from the US! Most probably coz I'm on a network, wherever or whatever this site is, it thought I was spoofing my ip address! |
