| 331980 | 2005-03-08 22:27:00 | Has anybody else heard "a whisper" that there seems to be some issues accessing your own website when it is being hosted by Xtra AND Xtra handle your static IP address ? One of our consultants hinted at this during a rush visit a week or so ago... Our problem is that while our customers can view our website (hosted by Xtra) we are unable to do so. Trying to discuss the apparent lack of performance with Xtra helpdesk (including XtraHost Complex Technical Service) draws an all too typical blank. :( |

| 331981 | 2005-03-08 22:43:00 | Umm what? That sounds highly unlikely. Are you hosting the site on your ADSL connection? What actually happens when you browse to the web-site? Sounds like this "consultant" may not know what he's talking about. |

| 331985 | 2005-03-09 01:05:00 | Sounds like you're getting dud DNS information for it. Go Start --> Run --> command --> ping www.yoursitename.co.nz --> enter It'll come back with: Pinging www.yoursitename.co.nz [123.456.123.123] with 32 bytes of data: That is the IP address your computer thinks your website is at. Then go here: http://network-tools.com/ Select ping and type your sitename in the box. They should both report the same number. If not then there is a problem. The sitename would help too. |
