333059 2005-03-11 06:53:00 A friend's got XP SP2 and is having problems, so tried to do a recovery, but he got his disk with SP1 - now when he tries to do a recovery gets the error that the disk can't be used because he has a newer version of Windows.

Is there a way around this?

Thx

333060 2005-03-11 07:01:00 Try booting into safe mode, and uninstall SP2 . THEN before he reinstalls SP2, do a spyware scan . . .

Problems like what?? rebooting?? crashing?? Let us know what the probs are .

We maybe able to fix the prob without removing SP2 .

333061 2005-03-11 07:30:00 Thx Speedy. I've suggested what you advise. His problems are way too convoluted to go into in detail, which I why I suggested he do a recovery. Greg (193)
