333062 2005-03-11 05:29:00 Im having this problem with my computer lately, I connect to go online and for a little while i am fine viewing which ever web site, i have both netscape and internet explorer running windows xp (latest netscape and IE progs), anyway after a while i get an error come up in netscape for which ever site it is it says for example "pressf1 could not be found please check the name and try again" and it sounds as if i am not connected, but i can disconnect and re connect and it still doesnt work but when i reboot it works, and in internet explorer i get "this page could not be found" error, does anyone know what this error is from and how i can fix it its driving me nuts having to reboot every 30 mins or so to stay online. lisamarie01 (6731)

333065 2005-03-11 05:41:00 What ISP?

That sounds suspiciously like what I had a while back .It was a problem with Orcon Internet, and teh DNS servers could not be contacted (too laggy). Contact your ISP's helpdesk

333068 2005-03-11 05:44:00 Get this www.merijn.org

From here www.spywareinfo.com

Download this, unzip it create a new folder called HJT.

Unzip this file into this folder and run it....Then close all programs do a scan in hijackthis and copy and paste the log here. U may have spyware or something, or something has messed up your hosts file.

333069 2005-03-11 05:49:00 Before everyone runs down the spyware/hijacking path, lisamarie01 can't access emails either during this which suggests it is a ISP connection issue, line fault or modem problem.

Call your ISP and get them to walk you through checking your settings. You can also call Telecom on 123 and ask for a telephone line test to make sure there isn't a line fault.

333070 2005-03-11 06:52:00 due to it coming back after reboot i would suspect it has more to do with users pc rather than ISP, lines etc .
it could well be a modem problem, exspecially if they are on poor lines or useing a winmodem .

spyware is probely the most comman problem and will need to be done at some point so its a good place to start .

May also happen if the Email client is running and set to hangup after send and receive. May also happen if the settings are set to hang up after 20 mins inactivity or when dial up connection may not be needed.

We need more info.
