333270 2005-03-12 04:44:00 Hmm I dont think that mobo has a connection for the cpu fan.. I cant see it.

If your talking about J11 on that pic/diagram u posted thats for the case, (if that case has somewhere for an extra fan, on the front or back of the case), NOT the cpu.

And it doesnt say CPU connection on the connections under the diagram.

I think thats why that old fan had a molex connection, coz the mobo hasnt got a cpu connection.

You may have to buy a CPU fan with a molex connection.

333271 2005-03-12 05:08:00 Just cut the plug off the old one, leaving about 5cm of lead and do likewise with the new one, but closer to the plug. Connect them together with a connector strip (or twist and tape if you are in a hurry) and plug in as before.

Re your photos, don't try to get the camera so close, they can't focus at that distance. Take a pic from further away then crop it down to just the bit you want to show.

Cheers

333272 2005-03-12 05:21:00 Well it works, using the 2 pin plug with the fan :D

In the BIOS it's hovering around the 30 degrees mark. Yay, now I can get on with the format :D. It's bloody noisy though, but what can you expect ;)

Thanks for all the help
