333023 2005-08-28 22:04:00 Opening Ports In DSL-302G Modem
Date: 26 April 2004
Doc version: 2.0
You can have your DSL-302G connected directly to computer:
Or you can have DSL-302G connected to a router/firewall:
Note: If your DSL-302G is in Bridge Mode or has NAT disabled you do not need to open ports in the
modem. With such setup your computer (or router) should be using public IP address (the one your
Internet provider gives you) and should be directly accessible from the Internet.
If you want to open several ports for your WEB server or Mail server or for your game please
refer to Port Redirection section of this guide.
If you want to open all ports and redirect all traffic coming from the Internet to your computer or
router please follow the steps in the BIMAP (DMZ) section of this guide.
1. Log into the modem. To do that open Internet Explorer and type http://10.1.1.1 (if you are
connecting to the modem via USB cable type http://10.1.1.2 ).
You will be prompted to enter username (default is “admin”) and password (default is “admin”).
2. Click on “WAN” > “NAT”, select “NAT Rule Entry”:
3. Click on “Add”:
4. Adding the rules:
Port Redirection
Under Rule Flavour select RDR. Enter the information as in the example below. Set Rule ID as
next number in the rules table (in our case it is 2). In this example we are creating 2nd rule
(Rule ID 2) for a web server which is running on computer with IP address 10.1.1.5 (Local
Address). Under Destination Port From, Destination Port To, Local Port fields enter the port
number you want to open. You can select port number from the predefined entries in the dropdown
menu or you can enter port number manually in the fields on the right. You can leave
Global Address as 0.0.0.0.
Click on “Submit” when done.
BIMAP (DMZ)
Under Rule Flavour select BIMAP. Enter the information as in the example below. Set Rule ID
as next number in the rules table (in our case it is 2). In this example we are creating 2nd rule
(Rule ID 2) where all traffic will be redirected to device (computer or router) with IP address
10.1.1.5 (Local Address). You can leave Global Address as 0.0.0.0.
Click on “Submit” when done.
5. After submitting the changes your computer or router (running on 10.1.1.5) will be accessible
from the Internet on the ports that you have opened (Port Redirection) or on all ports
(BIMAP/DMZ). Your computer or router will be accessible via your public IP address assigned to
you by your Internet provider. You can find out your public IP address from your ISP or from the
“Quick Configuration” page as below:

333025 2005-08-30 03:09:00 Thanks for the quick responses everyone.

Hi Tazz ...I went through every single tab in my advanced router settings and couldn't find any "HTTP local access port" option unfortunately. Closest thing I found to a 'tools' section was 'admin' where I have a remote access option ...but that's about it. I enabled that anyway in the hope it helps gets people accessing from outside of my network :-) Sounds like your router is much more user friendly in regard to HTTP access :-)

drcspy - thanks heaps for those instructions ...I haven't found instructions regarding opening all ports before with the BIMAP info ...so I've given that a go also. I've made sure my firewall is up and running now all ports are open through my router :-))

I setup an account with dyndns and got an address pointing to my ip ...http://markspc.dnsdojo.com ...I've gone to this URL from my pc and keep getting my router settings page. Might b a LAN access thing ...do you guys see anything on your end?

Cheers
Mark
