| 333539 | 2005-03-13 02:37:00 | It basically means that you have antother computer on the network that has the same name. Just simply change the hostname of the system. What operating system are you using? | ILikeLinux (1669) | ||

| 333541 | 2005-11-13 16:54:00 | Hey, I'm having the same problem. Every time I attempt to type in my password, I'm getting a message saying "Windows System Error: Duplicate name exists on the network." I went to the Control Panel and changed the name of my user account, but it didn't help and the message keeps popping up on my desktop. Any ideas?? Thanks. | dhamyanthi (7578) | ||
| 333542 | 2005-11-13 17:29:00 | Its not the main user name that message / error is talking about . Its the name under my computer / properties / computer name, that its talking about . This is, if you're on a home network/lan . If you use XP . Click on change under computer name . And change the computer name . |
