334271 2005-03-15 04:06:00 Hey,

I'm trying to get my Gentoo, KDE 3.3.2 system to look like it does below

Here (http:)

Now I've installed it from source as per the instructions. However the only place I can find to change it is the style menu of KDE control center.

This changes some things eg the stripe color on the menu, the look of tabs and certain other things, but I can't find how to change the rest of it... eg icons, K-Menu etc.

Or am I barking up the wrong tree and these are all separate elements.?

Cheers

334272 2005-03-15 04:28:00 Icons etc wont change - They're seperate

Lipstick is only the widget set sadly.

Based of Plastik IIRC too

Here (http:)LOL - your URL goes to the Microsoft Home page :D. I trust this is not the theme you were meaning? :p (you have an extra http:// in your url)

That lipstick theme looks really nice, might have to try that one out myself. :)

As Chill mentions, icon's in KDE are separate and you can really pick and choose the combination of styles that makes up your theme.

Ah Okay,

Another question I've downloaded an Icon set (Zenith) , but all that the author has released is the .pngs?

Any ideas how to begin using that?

334275 2005-03-15 04:59:00 That is a strange way the author has packaged the icons . Not sure about this . I have just tried to put them in a new directory I created with my system icons under /usr/shared/icons and also under my personal kde settings under ~/ . kde/share/icons, but neither was recognised by the KDE Control Centre Icon manager . . . . hmmm

Normally it is only a matter of pointing the Icon installer at your package and it does the rest .
