334234 2005-03-24 12:48:00 That's the big problem - I assume most of us use computers to at least some extentI don't. I get the print version of this forum, and submit my replies via carrier pigeon. ninja (1671)

334236 2005-03-27 06:35:00 One quick question. To all of you in the know.
Is "Phone banking" any more secure?
I suspect it may be simply because it does not involve the internet in any way (that I know of) yet it certainly has the same convenience and immediacy as internet banking.
And while it is certainly possible for anyone's phone line to be tapped, I would have thought it was much less of a risk that the wild and wooly internet. :badpc:

Yeah, I second that - brightened up my evening a bit. I actually meant those of us nationwide, not necessarily using this forum. Anyway, the Sunday documentary is on soon - it'll be interesting to see what they have to say.

334238 2005-03-27 08:31:00 Hopefully they won't waste time trying to educate the public on the difference between a hacker and a cracker .

And hopefully they will:

Recommend people get their comps serviced (and grab an upgrade while getting that done)

And inform them the biggest weakness is MS software and user gullibility .

Though I would bet $10 bucks we get some drivel sob story instead .

Which reminds me of the last such dribble I saw, That idiot on the Holmes show who sent $40 grand overseas because someone sent him a picture of girl (an ugly girl as well) said they loved him and needed a few thou to move to NZ .

A fool and his money indeed .

334239 2005-03-27 09:38:00 If anyone is interested in doing the same, I have had the ability to make one-off payments removed from my online banking. Means no-one can shift money out to an unknown payee. annie (6010)
