334394 2005-03-16 00:00:00 Hmmm....I would be inclined to go for system 3,and get them to whack a 6600gt video card in it, Depending on the motherboard and whatnot.

The price is right anyway.

Yeah, you'd want tp be a little suspicious of the quality of components before committing to the PB Tech one.

I was talking to some PB tech guys the other day and just shooting the breeze about various motherboards they use and various other gear and they really hate some brands with a real passion because they hate it even worse when something comes back in under warranty. Makes them look bad, wastes time. They want customers in,happy customers out and the next time they want to see them is when they want something new. Urgo the brands/ models they use are invariably the result of what they find is most reliable long term--- good for them and good for Joe Public. Thats not to say they don't give good service because they do-- its excellent and has been the last 6 or so years I have used them.
Go with number three and use the saved cash to buy goodies to go with it.

334396 2005-03-16 10:18:00 Thanks for your responses :o

I take it PB Tech is looking like the best deal??? Nobody wants to 'talk up' the NFC Tech 'Gaming' option???

I've since requested the full specs & details from PB Tech for the PB 204B and have emailed some queries regarding the NFC Tech option.

If I need your expertise - Like Arnie "I'll Be Back" - :D

Cheers :p

334397 2005-03-18 22:38:00  Hi again,

I have since had a response from PB Tech re specs for their PB204B Computer package. They replied as follows:

The Warranty is 1 Year Return to Base (RTB)

It uses a Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 800FSB
It Uses Asus p4S800-MX mainbaord
Hynix memory
No Modem
Onboard network
Onboard sound
AOC monitor (3 years Retun to Base Warrantythere is a ph number in box to ring for
monitor)
Richoh DVD+R Dvd Writer
Case with keyboard mouse and speakers

I note that they have a discontinued PB204 model with lower specs. I am assuming they had a few left and topped them up to make the PB204B special deal???

Your opinions please,

334398 2005-03-18 23:17:00 The Asus motherboard uses an SiS 661FX chipset with onboard video. Have SiS lifted their game, anyone with experience of that particular board? Asus generally is a good reliable brand but, I would put that board in the budget range. Murray P (44)
