2005-03-17 03:49:00 | Google tells me it is peer to peer networking tool but what do those words tell me and I am sucpicious of any thing free.... I know I should be grateful but in my elder years looking back I find what has been free eventually costs........! May be I am a cynic? | olldaddy78 (6546) | |
2005-03-17 03:58:00 | Yup thats what it is . Its a program so people can share files / send files etc over the net . Most of them, illegal . Kaaza is, or was full of spyware . And it is also a way of getting / downloading viruses / worms etc if you're not careful . Like any other P2P program . ie: Kaazalite, Grokster/Limewire, which are also peer-to-peer programs . Well there are LOTS of programs that do this . These are just a few of them .

I would suggest something to avoid unless you know what you are doing. |

2005-03-17 04:09:00 | I am sucpicious of any thing free . . . . I know I should be grateful but in my elder years looking back I find what has been free eventually costs . . . . . . . . ! May be I am a cynic? You are right to be suspicious so good on you for asking about it . Not everything free is bad but it can be very difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff at times so it pays to check first . In this case, as the others have said, you are better off without Kazaa unless you want to risk exposing your computer to a lot of problems .

2005-03-17 04:11:00 | Kazaa is a peer to peer application for swapping files (such as music, [usually] illegal applications etc). Best to avoid it as I find its loaded with spyware, and a lot of the files have viruses attached. There are other safer programmes you can use other that kazaa (WinMX for example)

2005-03-17 04:11:00 | there are plenty of alternatives..... ;) Alternatives to Kazaa, yes, but the risk is also in what is downloaded. If you don't know what you are doing and don't know the risks then you are bound to get burnt sooner or later.
