| 334638 | 2005-03-16 04:11:00 | from time to time my system hangs and the sound stutters. running windows 98 se, 500 mhz, 192 ram. happens whenever it wants, usually lasts under a minute. virus scan came up clear, spyware came up clean. just reformatted and reinstalled windows. any thoughts | whiskey419 (7609) | ||

| 334643 | 2005-03-16 05:07:00 | Memtest86 is a memory (RAM) testing program to check whether your RAM is OK. As you have just reformatted and reinstalled Windows I think it is unlikely to be the problem but it wouldn't hurt to eliminate it as a possibility. | FoxyMX (5) | ||

Or is this more spontaneous noise emitting from the speakers when it should of been quiet otherwise? Do you have onboard sound or a separate sound card? Did you install the motherboard drivers or sound card drivers after re-formatting and installing Win98se? |
