335330 2005-03-18 07:24:00 I am bamboozled by jargon.
On a graphics card what is DVI? and is it a good thing?

335331 2005-03-18 07:36:00 DVI is short for Digital Visual Interface. It is an input for LCD / TFT display panels. Clcik here (www.webopedia.com) for more details. Renmoo (66)
335332 2005-03-18 07:43:00 There is a good explanation of the technology here as well - Digital Visual Interface (en.wikipedia.org)

It is a good thing to have on your graphic card, as it means you can use DVI on your LCD monitor if it also has a DVI option. Gives much clearer pictures. :)

Very interesting - I did not know before that a modem converts a digital signal into an analogue one - and why ! :2cents:
