| 335172 | 2005-03-17 15:36:00 | Hi This is a two part question, first i just bought a new laptop running win XP. I have a home PC that i would like to hookup the cable from my home PC to the laptop. I tried plugging in the line from the back of my PC to the laptop but it keeps coming up with a message saying that the laptop needs a IP address. How do i get an IP address assigned? Also i will be using my Nextel phone service to run the internet on the laptop too. I have the service enabled and the cord, is there anything that i need to know to make this connection work too? Thanks! Chris :help: |

All u need is a ethernet cable, and a crossover cable to connect the two. If u do want the laptop to get onto the net, u can get access thru the other PC, once you connect the laptop with the ethernet cable, and a crossover cable. |
