| 335872 | 2005-03-20 08:41:00 | Host on Win98 should just be the name of the PC. Keep the IP address for Win98 as 192.168.0.1. This HAS to be the gateways IP because otherwise Internet Connection Sharing WILL NOT WORK! WinXP should have its IP set at 192.168.0.2! LEAVE the Primary DNS as 192.168.0.1 on WinXP, sometimes (Im not sure why) windows seems to like it if its the primary DNS. Leave the secondary one as 202.27.184.5 (Xtra's Terminator Secondary DNS Server) On WinXP set the gateway as 192.168.0.1 (The 98 gateway) and then you should be all good :) Chill. |

| 335873 | 2005-03-20 08:43:00 | I just noticed you said the green lights arent on for your card. The cable may work perfectly fine and be a patch cable, whereas you want a Crossover Cable. Usually the main difference is the Cable is one color and the end connectors are another color. Post back all the colors on the cable Chill. |

| 335874 | 2005-03-20 14:03:00 | ok it's probably me but it wont work still . . . and the colors on the end of my ethernet cord are both CLEAR . . . its the standard wire from Verizon Online DSL to hook from modem to your tower . . . . and please note that this setup HAS worked in the past but both computers were on XP pro also . . . . if someone wants to give me their email or let me talk to them on AIM/YAHOO/MSNM i will send them a screen shot of how i set my computer up |

| 335876 | 2005-03-20 21:49:00 | The only thing is, if ur on DSL or similar, you may not have any choice BUT to get a router, or something . If you're always connected, and the dialup on XP has no ICS . Have u got an ICS option somewhere?? on XP's dialup, or however u connect?? |
