336033 2005-03-20 03:17:00 my partner has spent ages downloading a game off emule and went to put it onto disk and accidently deleted it, now we cant find it anyway, aparently he deleted it from the recycle bin also thought it had gone onto the cd but it turns out it didnt, anyone got any ideas on how we can get the file back, oh and the computer has been turned off since then, i know chances arent looking good lol. but have heard there are programs out there to recover lost files. any help would really be appreciated! lisamarie01 (6731)
336034 2005-03-20 03:19:00 maybe worth trying a system restore to a point before the game was deleted , if system restore is supported by your OS KatiMike (242)

Most games are copywrite, and wont work once you have d-loaded them anyway

System restore can only undo settings and configuration and it will not be able to recover back deleted files.

336039 2005-03-20 04:20:00 Hi, I'll assume you are talking about a free game and all is legal :-) Benefit of the doubt eh....

So - yes, there is lots of software and it's easy to recover but not so easy to explain without more detail from yourself. So, if I were you, I'd simply download it again. If it takes ages, just go get a cuppa coffee.

Not a fix - but a resolve.

336041 2005-03-20 04:33:00 Chances are that the file has been overwritten.

There are applications which boot from Floppy or a Linux LiveCD, but if you've used your PC for more than 5 minutes then theres a good probability its gone for good and you're stuck re-downloading.

Again, Benefit of the doubt regarding copyrighted materials....
