| 335902 | 2005-03-19 21:46:00 | Hi I have just bought a new laptop XP Pro Service pack 2 with 11G wireless My xisting network consisted of a DSE ADSL router with 4 port switch. I bought a WAP set up wap and mac address I look at the ADSL routers address list and can talk to the WAP configuration menu via the IP address in the router list ok from the network I can not see the wap console from the laptop My Laptop connects to the WAP and I see data transferred to and from the wap I a not able to browse the internet though I have turned off Firewall I am running out of ideas |

If so, can it ping the gateway? If so, is the DNS setup correctly? My mind reading pants are in the wash, you'll have to be a bit more specific please ;) |

My mind reading pants are in the wash, you'll have to be a bit more specific please ;) Thanks for the reply I disabled wep and mac address to make the setup easier Found the problem was that XP puts the wireless networking as a bridged connection removed from bridges and Hey presto It works |
