| 336641 | 2005-03-23 23:05:00 | It's still in DMA - I've checked this a couple of times. I'll try a couple of other brands of disc and see if that makes any difference. Will also try and update Nero. Hopefully one of those will work! | alistar (7671) | ||
| 336642 | 2005-03-23 23:07:00 | Ok - I got it to burn!! I used Imation 4x DVD+R instead of the DSE 8x and it worked (I wasn't going to spend more on an 8x disc yet just in case). But, it is still really slow. I ran a speed test and it says that it is reading at 1x. What causes this and how do I get it to go faster? It's taking about 50 minutes to burn a DVD. Surely this can't be right?! Anyone know how I can speed things up (short of buying anew computer)? Thanks The solution is: Check for firmware updates for your DVD Burner (These are usually released evey few weeks), as they support more and more brands of DVD's with each release of the firmware. I always go to this site: forum.rpc1.org They have every drive listed (You will need to find out the manufacturer of the DSE branded drive). You should be able to burn a 8X with the DSE branded media (As long as it's not a rare brand of disk) |
