| 336521 | 2005-03-21 13:35:00 | kopking, What's the other OS in question? Am I assuming correct that the installation of XP, was done within the same directory of the other Windows, all sharing C:\Windows? To fix the boot menu, you'll need to edit your boot.ini file, usually found in the root drive (C:\), it's hidden from view, might be read-only as well, just edit it in notepad, open notepad click on file open type c:\boot.ini and hopefully that'll load it even if hidden or not, and hopefully it's not read-only, then just remove the information that relates to XP Home, it's quite possible that you are also using the XP bootloader? so that could be the leftover bits of it. In this case, I think booting from a startup floppy to command prompt typing: fdisk /mbr might resolve this problem. There's no harm in trying this unless you run other Operating Systems than the One you want. KK |
