1382189 2014-08-21 05:56:00 The update below has failed maybe 30 times over several months. I have run the Windows Update Trouble Shooter, which made no difference. The update failed 3 times since.
Any ideas why this 1 update wont install?

1382190 2014-08-21 05:59:00 According to this (windows.microsoft.com) that means the same driver is already installed, or it's not compatible with your videocard

If that doesnt work then go to the Intel site, see if the driver there works. Or if the video is onboard go to the mobo manufacturer's site. Get it from there

1382191 2014-08-21 07:49:00 OK. I went to Intel, now I have a couple of questions.
(1) Is a graphics Adapter the same as a Driver? I dont think so, but Intel leaves me wondering.
(2) does the fact that my chipset is on the motherboard cause this problem?
Vince (406)
1382192 2014-08-21 08:38:00 1. The graphic adapter is the videocard, and the drivers for it are in WU.

2. No, a chipset is on all mobos, not just yours

Did you built this system?? Do you know what brand/model of the mobo is?? Are you using onboard video or a separate vidcard?

I hate it when people give things several names. Windows Update tells me that it is failing to install a graphics adapter, no mention of drivers.

To answer your questions, the computer was made by flashtech in Chch. Mobo. is a ASUS P8H the graphics chips are on the mobo like I said.

Look here and se if u can tell me which download I need. I am using 64bit Win7, sp 1.

I have had a very bad day and my head is starting to spin. I can hardly type another word.

1382194 2014-08-21 09:18:00 Well thats what WU checks for updates and drivers. Altho not all drivers work, and some can even freeze the system, when they're installing from WU. Graphics adapter is the videocard it has detected when checking. You cant download an adapter, you download the driver

No such thing as a P8H mobo, there are P8H61, or P8H67 mobos, and there's more than 1 model. So, it'd be a bit hard trying to find the right driver if you have no idea what the model of the mobo is

So the videocard is onboard you mean, so is the one I built and it's fine

If you go to start/search type in system select system information. What does it say to the right of system model?

Windows Update still tries, and fails to install same, so I just hid the update; after all I dont have a graphics Problem.
Thanks for your Help
