1381905 2014-08-17 09:35:00 You're probably look at a GTX 660 or a R9 270x. Also worth noting playtech has a 7950 for $300: www.playtech.co.nz icow (15313)
1381906 2014-08-17 11:18:00 Questions: Do you want the best card you can afford or just a decent upgrade? what resolution is your monitor and do you plan to upgrade? what type of games?

A couple of decent options
750Ti for lowest power consumption/ performance is a great option if you are low on space or have a low wattage PSU

R9 270 is a little faster and not much different in price but uses more power and is physically larger

There are only minor upgrades to those two available in your price range, the 660 icow mentioned is roughly equivalent to the 270, a 7950 is a little faster than all of them but not enough to make a huge difference in games (still the best bang for buck under $300 if you get that deal he linked) and a GTX760 is closer to $400 and performs around the same as the 7950

Personally I'd put your specs into this www.extreme.outervision.com with each card and see if your PSU is up to it, if power is a concern get the 750Ti if it's not get the 270 or 7950.
That said some games do favour Nvidia or AMD so researching what is best for the games you play can be worthwhile. For example I still play a of of WoW and my high end R9 290 does not outperform the mid range GTX760 in my other PC and in fact sometimes drops to lower framerates because that game really favours Nvidia.

1381910 2014-08-21 12:17:00 And? How is it ? :D Chilling_Silence (9)
1381911 2014-08-22 06:32:00 hard to tell, i havn't got anything that makes it work hard. good excuse for a new game ;)
a few minor things, lack of artifacts in few things, pc is a little quicker. even HD video is a bit better. everything seams to run smoother, certainly a good step up from the onboard graphics.
