1368142 2014-02-20 04:12:00 Of the leaf kind. :p

Has anyone got a leaf vacuumer? If so, what brand and how good is it? Reviews from users mostly overseas appear to have mixed opinions of them from useless to pretty good so I am keen to know if anyone here has one that they would recommend or not.

1368145 2014-02-20 06:20:00 I have a Morrison 2500W blower/vac (search.mitre10.co.nz) - it's pretty good, has a variable speed and a bag (which was replaced with no fuss after a few uses because it ripped).

It doesn't like picking up wet leaves and it can be pretty noisy, but generally does a good job.

Yep . Some of the blowers perform both functions but I am more interested in a good vacuum .

I find a broom works well .

Sweeping native plant leaves off river stones is rather ineffective at the best of times .

Thanks for that . Are the bags inclined to need replacing fairly regularly? Was yours replaced under warranty? Ripped bags was one of the gripes users often mentioned in reviews, along with motors dying after just a few uses . Not worried about the noise . If it is good enough for the neighbours' rowdy kids to make a din then so can I . ;)

1368147 2014-02-20 08:33:00 Don't know how often the bag will need replacing , I've only replaced it the once, for free, a few months after I bought the machine .

I suspect that of you look after it, ensure it doesn't get overfilled or drag on the ground, it should last ok . . .

Ah stones . You have a decorative area? Leaves make excellent mulch, but I guess if it is a kind of paved area you don't want mulch on it . . . . .
