1367735 2014-02-16 20:03:00 When I have finished using the last of toothpaste in tube, I defy anyone to get another dollop, am I alone in being so exacting? Cicero (40)

1367737 2014-02-16 20:14:00 When I buy a tube of toothpaste I usually pay for 110 grams of toothpaste. I do my damndest to get them last dollops out. You are not the only Scrooge McDuck on this forum. Bobh (5192)
1367738 2014-02-16 20:30:00 Hearsay has it Prince Charles had a manservant whose job it was to squeeze the toothpaste on to the royal toothbrush - and extract every last bit of it. Until Mummy went on a rampage of cost cutting and stopped it. WalOne (4202)
1367739 2014-02-16 20:48:00 Nope Cic, you are not alone in this endeavour. This is why I consider the plastic toothpaste tube one of the great inventions of the 20th Century. Remember the old metal tubes, which we had to roll tightly from the bottom to get the last micrograms of paste. Now, a couple of swipes with the toothbrush handle along the tube moves all remaining paste north, and a good throttling grip at the neck of the tube spurts the last drop on to the brush. Much easier than in the days of Ipana, Kolynos and Pepsodent. (You'll wonder where the yellow went.....) These brands made their money from the toothpaste left in the tube, as did Colemans from the mustard left on the plate. Richard (739)

That aside I also have as good go at emptying the tube.

1367741 2014-02-16 22:44:00 You slice it open and then use your toothbrush to excavate the last remaining blobs. pctek (84)
1367742 2014-02-16 22:54:00 Hell no!!! You are not alone.

We have a toothpaste squeezer gismo that I attach to the bottom of the tube.

It comprises two pieces of plastic (one sits inside the other) with the inner piece getting rotated to drag (squeeze) the tube against the other piece.

1367743 2014-02-17 01:12:00 You have no idea the joy I feel knowing I am not alone.

Thank you ship mates.

Now that is keen.
