1367879 2014-02-20 03:28:00 Your right to insult people? or your right to ignore the law and speed whenever you want?
My Arse is neither scrawny nor ignorant. It's not PC speak, I just prefer not to result to name calling just because I disagree with someone. I am losing respect for some of you quite rapidly, you can tell me I'm wrong and even call my views idiotic without actually resorting to such childish behaviour.

What makes you guys think that wanting to go faster than someone gives you any more right to a lane than they have? It's not the "stay the hell out of it so speeders can use it" lane. By that logic the police could just automatically ticket anyone who used it because there'd be no legal reason to be in the lane, ever. Different story if we were talking about passing lanes but we are not.

If someone is doing the speed limit and using a lane and you want to go faster, you are at fault not them. You may disagree with the law but that doesn't change it.

1367880 2014-02-20 03:51:00 Just driven from v Christchurch to oOtematata today. Had speedo sat on 110 most of the way. Simply moved over a bit when someone tried to pass ir stuck in the left lane. No worries fir anyone. No need fir me to limut some one else's speed. plod (107)
1367881 2014-02-20 04:04:00 Sorry but dugimodo is right. Those who have to resort to insults have lost the argument.

Only if you continue to believe the losers argument.

1367882 2014-02-20 04:17:00 We appear to be fairly evenly split into two distinct groups.

1. Sanctimonious A***h***s who think they have the right to hold up everyone else on the road because they are always in the right.
2. Arrogant Pr**ks who think everyone else should get out of the way because they are always in the right.

I mostly belong to group 2 but sometimes group 1 it all depends on current road conditions. :) I do believe that slow drivers who deliberately hold up traffic cause at least as many accidents as those speed moderately.

You've missed the third group. Ones that don't give a ****

1367884 2014-02-20 04:24:00 There are two reliable ways of telling if you have won an argument. The first is if your disputants switch from discussion of the facts to accusations about motives; the second, more obviously, is if they descend to mere abuse.

I sat in the right-hand lane of a dual carriageway for a good five minutes yesterday, traveling at the speed limit. Some traffic in the left lane went faster than I but too bad, I was planning to turn into a road and did not want to be stuck in the left lane when I got to the intersection. Not everyone is courteous enough to let you in when you want to change lanes in busy traffic.

And the fourth, those who use public transport and find this entire thread hilarious :D

1367886 2014-02-20 05:05:00 I do believe that slow drivers who deliberately hold up traffic cause at least as many accidents as those speed moderately. Whats even worse is some of them actually then speed up when coming to a passing or double lane, and slow down again after it, causing even more frustration., which can sometimes lead to people taking stupid / dangerous risks to get past. wainuitech (129)
1367887 2014-02-20 05:27:00 Just to reiterate what the others have said Dugi.....you are a twat....Sir!Hey, did you miss the memo about leaving the personal insults out of the debate? Jen (38)
1367888 2014-02-20 07:58:00 couple of points. billyT that is info from road code. its not law. its recommended but not legally required.

Sorry tweak'e, it is in the road code via its interpretations under law, and is enforcable. You can and will be pulled over for inconsiderate driving, aka failing to keep left.

Do that during a licence test and you'll be failed, drive like an ignorant ass**** in front of a patrol car and you'll be pulled over and ticketed. Traffic law has more teeth than that laid out in the road code, a variety of offences are laid out in legislation and policies. Drivers can argue all they like but the Courts will decide, not this forum.

Cheers
