1368284 2014-02-21 05:15:00 That's quite a bitYeah with 2 hard drives, 17.3" screen, and dedicated graphics card its not surprising. Greg (193)
1368285 2014-02-21 06:37:00 Why would you want to do that? I thought the purpose of buying a computer was so that you could turn it on and just go :)

You mean, why would one want to replace Chrome OS with a full Linux distro?
Oh, I don't know - just the small matter of having a real operating system that would let you actually do things.

Surely you jest?

If that were truly the level of your technical understanding, I wouldn't take your recommendation to purchase a toaster, let alone a computer....

But then, maybe you were just making an exaggerated macfanboy put-down.

LOL!!!

As regards the Transformer (Engadget link - although that's a Windows 8.x machine), I was rash enough to buy a TF101 (Android OS) a couple of years ago. Thought it looked like the bee's knees at the time. But I can probably count on two hands the number of times I have separated the screen from the keyboard and actually used it as a tablet. And I'm disappointed at how slow it is....
