1367819 2014-02-17 09:54:00 If there are 2 lanes and she keeps the left of her right lane she is fine. You are quite WRONG (www.nzta.govt.nz) in your assumption that she may use the right hand lane. Not only is it contrary to the rules of the road, it is also inconsiderate, and is significantly more dangerous for both your wife and for the oncoming traffic!

1367820 2014-02-17 09:58:00 Yet you advocate responding to it by speeding up to match them, AND behaving in a manner that makes the situation more dangerous to boot by driving in a way to prevent them passing you? Good job.

+1

Actually, he would be driving like an idiot who shouldn't be on the road - period! :(

Using a cellphone while driving
20 Hands up how many people do you see still driving and using a cell.

See it all the time, and they dont care, the cops dont do anything. Saw one the other day the person was on a cell and damn near had a crash due to not even noticing the people about to step onto the crossing while the other cars in front of her had already stopped for them. She was on the phone, head down looking for something on the passengers seat.:groan:

Would say if you are on the Expressway yes keep left but if say on Kennedy Road stay in the Lane you intend to exit off

Yes, Kennedy rd is the subject...however I do disagree....stay left, move to right lane IF you need to turn right!

1367824 2014-02-17 19:50:00 On a side note, what may be a little known rule/law is that when passing a stationary school bus, the speed limit is just 20 K/ph - the transgression fine is a mighty 400 bucks. Greg (193)
1367825 2014-02-17 20:19:00 Yes, Kennedy rd is the subject...however I do disagree....stay left, move to right lane IF you need to turn right! Staying left is the safer option, less likely to have a head on crash. If everyone is obeying the speed limit  there shouldn't be any traffic holdups. Going faster than the speed limit a person is breaking the law. Heard the other night they may make the tolerance of 4 km/h a permanent thing, not just on holiday periods. wainuitech (129)
1367826 2014-02-17 20:24:00 On a suburban street even a major one I would stick to the side I would be turning next avoiding unnecessary lane changing

Coming from Tauranga you would be fair game for a shunt as most don't indicate and just keep their mind fixed going from A to B

1367827 2014-02-17 23:53:00 I drive my school van up to 8 times a day up or down Kennedy Rd and get brassed of with the plonkers who hog the right lane, usually along side some other plonker doing 40K. The expressway, by the way is only 2 lanes except at the roundabouts for turning traffic.

1367828 2014-02-18 00:13:00 I think lane weavers are worst than people that mind their own business in the right hand lane of 30 mph dual carriage ways. I would so like to be a in a country that pulls them out of their car and shoots them. prefect (6291)
