1367185 2014-02-10 01:44:00 He's 29 years of age, he likes a drink. What 20 something doesn't.

If hes drinking every day, he has a big problem
If its only occasionally that he's getting plastered, whats the issue except he got 'caught on film' ?
Binge drinking is almost the norm in NZ .
As for being a role model, well now he's a role model of what not to do, a warning to those about to hit drinking age.
Anyone who has a sports star as a role model is by far on the wrong track.

Role model : No one will ever look at a drunk & go I want to be just like that.

1367187 2014-02-10 04:25:00 Then there was THIS (www.stuff.co.nz) fellow.

He'd be too hard to handle for modern management. :D

1367188 2014-02-10 04:44:00 Yes, he has had enough chances.

A beer after a match is fine.

But not before or during !

1367189 2014-02-10 05:17:00 A little bit off topic, but I went to school with Bracewell at Rathkeale in Masterton. To anyone who studied with him, none of this is a surprise.

I remember one night he came into the boarding houses drunk and decided to start beating the **** out of random people in their sleep. For no reason, it was a laugh.

I shudder to think how people like that manage to make it in on skill alone- I'd hope that they would realize how privileged they are, and would grow up and be role models instead.

You are out mate.

Ohhhhh, so we can hold you personally responsible for Bracewell’s behavior. :D

Now if you’d dealt to him back then we may not have the problem now. ;)

Seriously though, by way of observation, an awful lot of top sports people, and indeed top business people, have a little bit of "Mongrel" in them. :)

Yeah, and then there’s Shane Warne, arguably the best spin bowler ever, but what a handful both on and off the field and I don’t think he’s improving.
