1367745 2014-02-17 08:47:00 I've cut a few open to get that last clean out of the tube.

Thats after rolling them up to the nozzle and pushing the ass end through.

1367746 2014-02-17 08:59:00 Doing the sums on these techniques, I estimate a saving of 4.59 cents.
And that requires Mets system that at the end it has been found there isn't even any DNA.

.

Yep.
X how many tubes you use per year.
Then add in the last scrap of paper on the loo roll, the last drops of shampoo, sauce and so on as well....

Over 10 years with all of them, you could even save $100.

Splitting the roll core down to thin layers to get a few more turns is not entirely practical.
Cardboard (even thinned cardboard) is not particularly satisfactory for the task according to SWMBO who was the rostered test driver.

1367750 2014-02-17 22:01:00 For me, its not about saving money, its about the fact I can't find the fresh tube.

There is always one there, In the cupboard, but as soon as I try and find it I go blind.

So I just ream the arse out of the current tube.

I also add water to shower gel and shampoo but I'm getting a fair amount of negative push back on that one, especially since the kids seen me do it and now regularly top up everything with water.

1367751 2014-02-17 22:55:00 As a person who likes to know where everything is, it's no problem finding new tube and anything else apart from stuff I have put in a safe place, never to be seen again. Cicero (40)

So why don't you just do what all other males do? Shout for the wife.....
Husband can't find his own phone sometimes.....I have to point out it's in his pocket.

1367754 2014-02-18 08:52:00 You slice it open and then use your toothbrush to excavate the last remaining blobs.

Haha, I like that idea!
