| 337209 | 2005-03-23 10:27:00 | I have read several forums and there is a wide range of opinions several years ago I read that NAV is not good now I hear that it is the best (yet I want more opinions). Well I would like to know what you guys think (please tell me both free and non-free programs) also I would like to know what can take away ad-ware and spy-ware. Also several years ago I was told that some one had several Antivirus in there pc and it messed it up. is this still true? thank you |

Nod32 is widely regarded as the best commercial product. Norton has the advantage of being readily available off the shelf with nicely dressed salesmen telling you its the best in the world, I persoanlly would rank it as worse then a virus. |

No doubt about it Met,you should be on stage and I dont mean the next one out of town. :) |

| 337215 | 2005-03-23 11:26:00 | I use Nod32, I have used NAV (2 versions), PCcillin (2 versions), AVG and trialled Avast. For home or small business use I rank them as: 1) Nod32 2) PCcillin 3) AVG, Avast has a good rep but we (my PC and I) and Avast didn't hit it off, your mileage may vary, NAV would never get another look at any machine of mine. To my utter shame, it took two forays into the world of Symantic software for me to take the hint. |

Usually install on PC's where mostly I know they are just going to surf the net, and hopefully not be doing anything too nefarious. Tried Nortens for a little while, but the constant reminders of "you've got 21 etc days before you renew" got on my wick and the $80 odd bucks to do so just isn't worth it to what AVG can offer. |

Now here is another question for you. Out of these are they good, bad or users opinion. Panda Antivirus Titanium Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2005 |

| 337218 | 2005-03-23 11:37:00 | As Metla said Nod32 is widely regarded as the best commercial product. and there is no doubt about that. AVG is a very good free one; even better since it hit 7.0. Personaly I would not have a resource hungry Nortons product on any PC I have anything to do with. Since striking the Ad-Aware help site I lost all faith in them(arrogant barstards) and have more faith in Spybot |
