| 337112 | 2005-03-23 09:03:00 | The manual is driving me nuts. I have a Brother MFC 8440 on the network. Printing is fine, but... can one scan through a network? Trouble with the manual is that you can put a network card in the machine (at vast expense) and so far the references I have found in the multiple manuals to "Network scanning" refer to using the network card. |

| 337114 | 2005-03-23 09:13:00 | Cool. That has saved me a few hours trying to find out that it can't be done. Computers are side-by-side so it's no hassle to change the plug over - but why do things the hard way if you don't have to? |

| 337115 | 2005-03-23 09:18:00 | Thats true . If its USB just install the software on the other PC and then u can just plug it in and out . BUT if its a parallel scanner, thats a different matter . Just takes a bit longer, since you'll have to turn both off before u change them round . |

| 337118 | 2005-03-23 10:37:00 | Had a boss once who ticked me off soundly for mouse hot swapping so I tend to behave with them. I just had a thought. As the printer has both parallel and USB - is it possible to plug one computer into each port? Or does this cause conflicts? |
