Word 2003, OE, XP an assignment due tomorow has been passed back and forth via email, it has been altered both ends, came back ok, spent hours editing the rest and saved it numerous times, and now i only have original unedited version. Due Tomorow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! will i be able to find it or is it lost? i cant find it in W explorer. am so sick now knowing i have stuffed...... b |

| 336876 | 2005-03-22 19:25:00 | Did you save this word doc to the hard drive, or were you working on it and saving while still attached to the email? Try opening up the document from the last email and see if that now reflects all your changes. You should also be able to find the document by opening up the Word Program and then going File > Most Recent documents list. The top entry should point to the lastest version of the document if you had been saving it. Failing that, you can also use Word to find where the last file was saved (if that was the last word document you have been working on). Open up a new blank Word doc and then just go File > Save As (but don't save). See what folder/location Word opens up to suggest to save in, as it should be the place were Word last saved a document in. |

I worked on original and gave up and sent it about 12.30 this morn...as i have been away all day............i was so !!!! and no its not a swear word....just upset. i cant figure out why it didnt save it... not as good as the original unsaved, but it will do, to zonked to worry now. thanks Jen will try to remember this for posible future glitches. beetle |

| 336878 | 2005-03-23 05:04:00 | Hi Beetle. You've probably tried everything, but I once "lost" a file which had been inadvertently saved with a wrong name. The advanced search options looking for a word or phrase saved us as I looked for paragraph headings and a couple of known phrases within the report. Know the feeling as I was a part time vasity student in my early thirties with a full time job and the kids and all essays were completed after midnight. You have my sympathy.
