2005-03-22 05:52:00 | hi,i just built a new pc about a week ago,and now iam having some problems with it.the motherboard iam using is www.pcchipsusa.com , with a amd athlon 1.5ghz cpu.atlas precision 256mb ram.it was running good up until i started getting random crashes"blue screen"so i tryed a different hd.that worked for a while, then it happened again.after i tryed to restart it,the pc would keep restarting by itself.it also doesnt show any bios info on the screen.i tryed using a different monitor, but nothing.does it sound like the mobo is fried?anyone else have this problem?maybe i should try using a pci video card, instead of onboard.thanks | kevincadogan (7672) | |
2005-03-22 06:01:00 | You might want to try swapping your RAM with another stick first. If that doesn't fix it, then yeah, I would suspect the mobo As far as the BIOS is concerned, have a look in motherboard manual, it may have the reason in there for it not showing

2005-03-22 11:16:00 | Prob not related but try to pull out other drives but the hdd and see if it works. My old PC, 200Mhz did this until I pulled the CD ROM out and it booted ok. Before the hdd would not spin and it just kept restarting not getting into via bios check.

2005-03-22 11:41:00 | Can you provide any detail of the blue screens or other error messages. This info may give a pointer to the problem, without it all we can give is supposition. ie; any of the above advice could be correct or, all of it could be wrong. | Murray P (44) | |

2005-03-22 19:42:00 | hi,iam still waiting for the ram,but i tried a new ps,and it did the same thing.iam starting to think its just the motherboard by the way it starts.sounds like the hd loses power for a second, then clicks, and starts up again.i hope i can still use my cpu,and its not fried.if i cant get it working by today, then iam just going to find a different motherboard.any suggestions on a good socket a motherboard? | kevincadogan (7672) | |
