336974 2005-03-23 00:43:00 Hi folks,

I have been using MS Outlook 2003 for some time now and like it very much. One annoying problem which seems to exist however, is that I cannot find a way to stop the programme accepting large file downloads. Some emails with attachments have been in the mbs...sent by well-meaning people who might think I would enjoy a power point presentation! In a previous email programme I was able to specify a size limit that the download could be restricted to. Outlook doesn't seem to have this ability. Has anyone a solution that could be suggested other than contacting fiends to say..don't send and other than using mailwasher. i.e is there a built-in (to Outlook) means of doing this? Thanks

336975 2005-03-23 01:32:00 Don't know if this will help as I use Outlook 2003 with MS Exchange server so the options may be different, but here goes anyway.

In Outlook go to Tools - Options - Mail Setup tab - Send/Receive button - Edit button.
On this Send/Receive Settings page you can select the Inbox and then the option to download only headers if the item is larger than ??? KB and you can put in the size here.
