| 337668 | 2005-03-25 00:03:00 | HELP MEE!!! it looks like my computer is dying :( all these programs keep crashing and try to send error reports then they close, when the programs are restarted, it happens again! The programs so far are: IE6 MSN messenger6.2 windows explorer and the scariest: "runn dll as an app" (i think thats the rundll32.exe) Itried system restore to a couple days ago, and it said "restore incomplete" which, is really DUMB! i thought id try reinstalling IE, but then rundll32 crashed so i figured it cant be the individual programs ... I have windows XP pro, with zonealarm and norton 2002 with all the definition updates, running in the background... whats happening to my computer??? :( Help me! J |

| 337669 | 2005-03-25 00:18:00 | First of all, make sure you go and back up to CD or DVD all your personal files now. If the PC really loses the plot and is unable to be booted into Windows, doing this now will save your bacon. You seem to have a variety of problems which makes it hard to pin point what the actual cause is. What does the error reports say in detail. Also have a look under Control Panel > Admin Tools > Event viewer. Note down what the error reports are around the time of the crashes. Have you tried an online antivirus scanner? Have you also checked for spyware and malware with programs such as Spybot Search & Destroy or Ad-awareSE? |
