When i enter my ip, it just says connection refused  I REALLY want to fix this because whenever i try playing MMORPGS it will crash the game every 5 minutes (no this didnt happen before i got the router)

337469 2005-03-24 08:57:00 is this your router ?
www.dlink.com
some other details may help - computer specs/ hardware / OS ?
how have you tried to configure it already ? does it work ok otherwise eg for web browsing , updating antivirus etc ?
BTW looks like a nice router ...
bumping within the hour is unusual ... :2cents:

337470 2005-03-24 19:22:00 Yes, that is indeed my router, these are my specs:
pentium 4, 2.4ghz
1.29 gigs of ram
microsoft xp
sympatico high speed (hey, it might have something to do with it)

Yes, it works perfectly fine for regular internet activities, and when i tried to configure it by typing my ip adress in with fire fox it just says operation has timed out or other different errors, i went to the official dlink website, but their advice on configuring it is what ive already done :(

Are you typing in your IP address or the router's local IP address?

To get to the configuration page you have to use the IP address of the router on the LAN - i.e. 192.168.0.1 or something.

337474 2005-03-24 23:07:00 The router's default username and password is 'admin'

337475 2006-01-07 00:51:00 HEY GUYS, i'm a really noob router worker but I GOT IT TO WORK with DSL!
this is what you do or what i did to get it to work..
symtoms my problem had:
dsl works on one computer
router does not work though

change the IP ADRESS

to do this log into the d-link
192.blah blah.

change it to something different that the one u have now, but remember it cuz u may want to go back. write it down or somethin.

IP adress may be the same as the dsl so that can create the problem.

FINAL CURE: UPDATE YOUR ROUTER SOFTWARE (FIRMWARE UPDATE). you can find this update by goin to help, then look for updates there. find the update. this was the problem because my router was a year not updated. it solved the problem, now i got 3 computers runnin online at mi casa.

REALLY SWEET...just happened like 5 min ago, thats my story, i hope it helps!
sorry bout the misspellings on this page, i'm just really excited to play games online! hahah thanks for the help (i called d-link service for help, thats what they told me to do)!

sorry about that . that's a big link . I'm wanting to change from an ancient hub to a router and don't need wireless capability . is the unit in the link a good quality user friendly product?

I'm totally clueless about this stuff . I did a search and found your thread .

take care!
