| 338250 | 2005-03-26 11:26:00 | I see previous posts about this irritating file - I find that it will not allow me to delete folders and keeps telling me the file is in use - I cannot seem to delete it - Any suggestions please - or how the heck do I delete folders where this monster is present? TIA Bryden |

| 338253 | 2005-03-26 23:35:00 | Thanks Bob and Gibler for the replies - am going to try turning off the feature and also deleting the existing ones. Fingers crossed..... With that file present sometimes it will let me delete it and sometimes it wont.... sooooooo annoying. Bryden |

| 338254 | 2005-03-26 23:39:00 | You shouldn't delete thumbs.db, the computer uses this for showing you previews of your images, depending on what view you have it set on e.g. Icons, Detail etc.... | Gabpoll (7710) | ||
| 338255 | 2005-03-27 01:48:00 | I do not want 1273 Thumbs.db files taking up space etc. on my hard drives.... Deleting them does not stop me viewing my files as thumbnails if I want to..... Anyway, I finally achieved success and got rid of them. I followed the info. on the "watchyourstepmoron" link and have checked "Do not cache thumbnails" which should (hopefully) stop this irritating file appearing again (fingers crossed) - however, when I did Search and tried the Select All/Delete option - some could be deleted and some could not. Then (FINALLY!!) the penny dropped and I realised if I went to the folders where these files were located and changed from Thumbnail to Details view, then I could delete them after doing another Search. Now I am down to 7 a few of which related to messages on my PC so I am a happy camper..... Thanks for the help..... Bryden |
