338189 2005-03-26 05:51:00 Hi all ~ I'm doing a bit of work on a friends WinME PC. Several times, when I try to install various progs, i.e. SpyBot, I get the following dialog:

"A required .DLL file, EHANDLE.DLL, was not found."

I can't find the bloody thing on the system anywhere, nor any info on the net.

Anyone happen to know what's going on here?

Much appreciated ~ John

338190 2005-03-26 06:04:00 It might be in the startup / under run in the registry.

I spose it says that error, coz it isn't on the hard drive?

Check the startup and run in the registry (If you know what you're doing).

It could be something someone uninstalled, but this file didnt get removed.

Google and Yahoo dont say anything about it, so it can't be that important.

338191 2005-03-26 06:26:00 Thanks m8. Had a rummage through the registry but couldn't find anything other than a bunch of references to ehandlers. Didn't touch those.

Whatever ehandle.dll is, not having it prevents the successful install of a number of programs.

Weird.
