338136 2005-03-26 00:14:00 My boss gave me a Sony Network Camera to have a play with over the weekend and I can't for the life of me get it to work

I've got as far as plugging it into my NIC and tried to assign it an IP using sony's 'easy setup' program which was supplied with it.

The manual tells me to click on the MAC or IP address and it will bring up the options to select what type of network interface it is connected to.

But...it doesn't. :illogical

Help! So much for easy setup.

It does have a space for username and password...but what do I put there? If anything? None of the accounts on this comp have passwords.

Win XP Home.

338137 2005-03-26 01:39:00 Just checked sony's website/s. A few brief FAQ's, nothing that answers my question though. *sigh* pine-o-cleen (2955)
338138 2005-03-26 01:58:00 I just d/l the manual from a site. It says the username/pw is guest, this is the default.

Try that for the username and password.

Or admin for name and password.

338139 2005-03-26 04:22:00 Hmmm.

I can change the IP address with the username admin p/w guest, but it still wont get me any further than that.

Thanks for your time (so far!) Speedy.

338140 2005-03-26 04:31:00 No try admin as both username and password, or guest as username and password. Speedy Gonzales (78)
338141 2005-03-26 05:40:00 Yeah tried that too. pine-o-cleen (2955)
