Hi SteveL. Back to your original...... When I upgraded from 98 to XP I had to dump my old HP scanner and bought another HP. The supplied "free" OCR programme was different and there was no doubt that the quality of OCR scanning of our standard documents improved enormously. Can't give you stats and figures but the four or five years between the two OCR programmes made a vaste difference. You ask if progress has been made - I think so but I'm sure there will be some wizard out there who can put figures to that. Go for it. Following on from gf's comments about the quality of the original document and its fonts - consider getting steam iron in the office to flatten out wrinkles and folds. :cool: |
