Are you launching the disk defragmenter from the Start Menu or from the tools found under the right click properties on the C drive? What happens if you do this (assuming you have XP): Start > Run. Enter in cmd and click OK. At the command prompt that appears in the black box, type defrag and push Enter. |

I tried launching it from the start menu and it didnt work, and from C: properties it says that its not installed and i need to install it. I tried doing the CMD command, and it worked, but i prefer using the normal way, any solution? |

| 339744 | 2005-03-31 10:25:00 | You could try going to Start > Run and typing in the following: sfc /scannow Note that there is a space after sfc and you may be prompted for your Windows installation CD. |

| 339747 | 2005-04-01 06:02:00 | Do a search for Defrag . You should find 3 of them. Or at least i did on mine. Double click Defrag.exe when or if you find it. hth |
